TRANSPORTATION

Dear Parent or Guardian,                  

The Berlin-Milan school system is dealing with budget cutbacks in several areas, one of those being transportation.  Although we sincerely regret the need to make these changes, we hope that the detailed list below will help you make the adjustments necessary for your child’s arrival and departure from the school grounds.   Please read the list of changes below:

Changes for 2009-2010:

1. No high school or preschool busing
2. No busing for students K-8 who live within one mile from their designated building
3. Earlier pick-up times
4. Combined elementary and middle school bus runs
1. We have allocated elementary and middle school runs into one bus run for the morning and the afternoon.   Middle school students will be seated in the back of the bus, while elementary students will be seated near the front. 
5. Middle school students living in Milan or on a Milan bus run will be shuttled to Berlin-Milan Middle School from Milan Elementary. 
6. Designated pickup and drop off locations were determined by the feedback provided by parents on the transportation form.  Unfortunately,no exceptions will be allowed,as some busses will be transporting students at or near capacity.  Safety limits will not allow us to transport additional students at this time. Example (Riding home after school with a friend)
