D.A.R.E. to be Your Best
Our 6th
graders have started working with Deputy Adam Klepper
from the Erie County Sheriff’s department as part of the
D.A.R.E. program.

The aim of the program is
for the students to learn about the consequences of drug and
alcohol abuse, smoking, peer pressure, bullying and
cyber-bullying, inhalants, and new teen “games” like the
choking game.

The students are encouraged
to share their questions by dropping them in our classroom
D.A.R.E. box. Deputy Klepper will go through each question
and will use some as discussion topics for the class. Our
goal is to help our students learn that in order to be their
best they must do it without the use of ANY harmful
substance or harmful act toward others.
Power of the Pencil
Poetry, short
stories, and illustrations! Our sixth grade
students are not only honing their creative writing
skills, but they are working on a legacy. This year
our Power of the Pencil Club will be producing,
editing and publishing their own poetry and short
story anthology!
