3rd GRADE
2009 - 2010 School Year
In Social Studies, 3rd graders have been
learning about cultures around the world, including cultural
celebrations and special dances.
8th grader Emily Hansen performed Irish dancing for the
3rd graders. Emily attends Burke School of Irish
Dance. Emily has been dancing for six years. She
is an open prizewinner level dancer. Thank you, Emily,
for sharing your talents with the 3rd graders!

In writing, our 3rd graders wrote to pen pals in
Northeastern China. The Chinese students' teacher, Megan
Borgelt, a Huron native, came into our class to teach the
students how to use chopsticks and write some Chinese
characters.

Third grade students made edible landforms. Each treat
represented a landform or fault line in the earth.

Third grade students are working on
edible maps and science experiments.

Please take time to read over
the 3rd grade
curriculum page in order to find out more about what the
students are learning in their classes.
