6th Grade
Sixth grade social studies will explore the
history of the world beginning with prehistoric man. The
course will progress chronologically through ancient river
valley civilizations to European explores. The focus will
be on their contributions to today's society.
7th Grade
Seventh grade social studies consist of a
full year of World Studies. The focus will be on Ancient
Civilizations through the First Global Age. Ancient
Civilization studies will include Egypt, India, China,
Greece, and Rome. Additionally students will investigate
the impact of the Renaissance.
8th Grade
Social Studies in the 8th grade is a study of
American History from the colonization of Jamestown in 1607
through the end of Reconstruction in 1877. Major topics
include the colonization of America, the early growth and
development of the American Colonies, the Revolutionary War
and the struggle for independence, the forming of a new
American Government, the Age of Jackson, westward expansion,
the Civil War, and the Reconstruction of the Union.
