The Charger Boys' Cross
Country team had an outstanding day at the Tiffin Cross
Country Carnival on Saturday, September 8 with many runners
posting personal best times. Out of 42 team competing in
their division, the boys placed an impressive 9th overall.
Alec Spriggs and Luke Pierce took 27th and 28th place out of
277 runners! They were closely followed by Evan Smith,
Collin Bedard, Nick Taylor, Johnny Hoffman, and Nate Kaczor.
Colin Lombardi and Nathan Hansen led the Chargers in the
boys open race with Jon Nickoloff, Matt Pulaski, Jon
Schafer, Derek Silkwood, and Troy Moore all finishing with
personal best times! Way to go, gentlemen!
The boys Charger Cross
Country team dominated the field by defeating Huron, Port
Clinton, and Clyde. Leading the team was Luke Pierce who won
the meet at the wire! Nick Taylor was second, Alec Spriggs
was third and Evan Smith was fourth overall. Nice going!
Rounding the top seven were Collin Bedard, Johnny Hoffman,
and Nate Kaczor. The boys' record in dual meets if now 6 and
0.
The Charger Cross Country
boys team participated in the Western Reserve Invitational.
With 12 schools competing, the Charger boys won 1st place
overall, outscoring the 2nd place school by 56 points! Seven
Chargers also earned individual medals for their overall
finishes. Luke Pierce led the boys by placing 3rd in a time
of 11:50, while Alec Spriggs was close behind in 5th with a
time of 11:54. Nick Taylor finished 6th, while Evan Smith
was 9th and Collin Bedard 10th. Other medalists were Nate
Kaczor and Johnny Hoffman.
The Charger Cross Country
boys team finished their season by winning the SBC
championship. They pulled together to take first place
overall, winning the trophy and title of 2007 SBC Cross
Country Champions! The Chargers packed together to score 29
points, 40 points ahead of the second place team. The trio,
Luke Pierce, Alec Spriggs, and Nick Taylor, swept the
second, third, and fourth places, while Evan Smith came in
tenth and Nate Kaczor came in twelfth! Collin Bedard
finished fourteenth and was the first 7th grade runner in
the SBC to cross the finish line. He was closely followed by
Johnny Hoffman, Colin Lombardi, and Matt Pulaski.
