The 8th grade
football team tied with the Port Clinton Redskins 14-14.
Scoring the first touchdown was a pass from Jason Blogett to
Kyle Wedman. Derek Starkey scored the extra point. The
second score was over the left side by fullback Zach
Rutherford. The extra point was not good. The offensive line
had another good game. Those players who made receptions in
the game were Cody McCoy, Chris Schnell, and Greg Knottke.
On the defense, Derek Starkey intercepted a pass and Austin
Maschari recovered a fumble. Brennan Otto broke up a key
play on defense that kept the score tied.
The 7th grade
football team lost to Perkins on Thursday, October 4 with a
score 22-18. Trenton Emody scored the game's first touchdown
on a 1 yard quarterback sneak. Storm Weimer later scored on
a 22 yard scamper around the right end and Tommy Gerbracht
caught a 18 yard scoring strike from Shane Crooks. Dalton
Howard added a 40 yard run and Stephen Shephard netted 2
receptions.
The 8th grade
Charger football team lost to Perkins with a score 42-6.
Scoring for the Chargers was Zach Rutherford. The extra
point was not good.
The 7th grade
football team lost to Oak Harbor on Thursday, October 11
with a score of 28-14. Trenton Emody and Dalton Howard
scored touchdowns for the Chargers, while Emody completed
the 2 point conversion pass to Jarold Lombardi.
The 8th grade
football team lost to Oak Harbor with a score of 48-6.
Scoring for the Chargers was Zach Rutherford on a 35 yard
run.
The 7th grade
football team lost to Margaretta on Thursday, October 18
with a score 22-0. Tommy Gerbracht had 5 receptions, Mitch
Weyer added 1 reception, and Cody Heim fell inches short of
a touchdown on his only reception. All the completions were
delivered by Shane Crooks. Tyler Vitaz, Storm Weimer, and
Brady Coles played well on defense.
The 8th grade
football team defeated Margaretta Polar Bears with a
score 20-18.Scoring our first touchdown was Zach Rutherford.
The second touchdown was scored by Derek Starkey and the
extra point was run in by Tyler Majoy to put the Chargers up
14 to 12. The Polar Bears scored with 3 1/2 minutes left in
the game. The Chargers drove the ball down to the 1 foot
line with 25 seconds left and 4th down. Kyle Burns scored a
quarterback sneak to put the Chargers up 20-18. Corey
Mancuso sealed the victory with an interception with 6
seconds left. It was an overall great team effort on both
offense and defense. The season record is 2 wins, 4 losses,
and 1 tie. Coach Williamsen wanted to congratulate the guys
on their effort!
