The 7th grade
volleyball team lost to an undefeated Margaretta team with
scores 25-15 & 25-14. The servers at 100% were Tori Saenz,
Lindsay Butler, Brandi Angus, and Hannah Leber. Tori Saenz
served for 4 points with 1 ace, Livi Gornek had 3 points and
Kirsten Hall and Jordan LaNeve each scored 2 points with
LaNeve adding an ace. The team record is 4-8.
The 8th grade
volleyball team beat Margaretta in their last home match of
the year with scores 25-23 & 25-23. The servers at 100% were
Michelle Johnston, Lauren Teed, Elise Gastier, Nicole
Codeluppi, and Abbey Cox. Elise Gastier was 12-12 serving
with 8 points and 2 aces, while Lauren Teed was 8-8 serving
with 4 points and 2 aces. An overall great effort from all
the girls led to this victory! The defense made outstanding
plays which allowed our hitters a chance to attack the ball.
Susan Knight and Abbey Cox led the hitting attack with 5
kills each thanks to a combined effort from setters Elise
Gastier, Allison Ringholz, Sarah Holler, and Shantel Wolfe.
The team record is now 11-1.
The
7th grade
volleyball team lost their match on Thursday, October 18 of
the regular season to Clyde with scores 17-25 and 20-25. The
servers at 100% were Brandi Angus, Bailey Wikel, Lindsay
Butler, and Micaela Ostheimer. Jordan VanDootingh served for
5 points. Mary Kate Bodkin servered for 3 points and Bailey
Wikel servered for 2 points with an ace. The team record is
now 5-9.
The 8th grade
volleyball team wrapped up the regular season on October 18
with a win against Clyde with scores 25-19 and 25-16. The
servers at 100% were Elsie Gastier, Nicole Codeluppi, Susan
knight, Aubrey Notestine, Morgan Price, Abbey Cox, and
Heather Payne. Elise Gastier served for 11 points with 3
aces, while Susan Knight added points off her serve. Elise
Gastier, Shantel Wolfe, and Sarah Holler contributed with
perfect passing, while Susan Knight and Abbey Cox led the
attack at the net. Knight was 14-17 with 3 kills, while Cox
was 8-11 with 3 kills. The team record is now 13-1!
The 7th grade
volleyball tournament was held on Saturday, October 20 at
St. Mary's in Sandusky, Ohio. The seventh grade volleyball
team ended their season with a hard fight and loss to Clyde
with scores 10-25, 25-19, & 13-25. The servers who were 100%
were Mary Kate Bodkin, Livi Gornek, and Rena Arter. Jordan
Van Dootingh served for 8 points and 1 ace, while Mary Kate
Bodkin scored 6 points on her serve. Coach Parcher
congratulates the girls on a great season!
The 8th grade
volleyball team beat Oak Harbor, St. Mary's, and Huron on
their way to an SBC championship on Saturday, October 20 at
Huron High School. The girls beat Oak Harbor on their first
match of the day, 25-13 and 25-17. The servers who were 100%
were Lauren Teed, Elise Gastier, Nicole Codeluppi, and
Shantel Wolfe. Nicole Codeluppi was 9-9 serving with 8
points and 5 aces. Susan Knight was 9-11 hitting with 4
kills. In the second match the team came out strong with a
score of 25-15 and 25-16 against St. Mary's. The servers who
were 100% were Susan Knight, Abbey Cox, Shantel Wolfe, and
Heather Payne. Elise Gastier was 17-18 serving with 15
points and 2 aces, while Lauren Teed served for 7 points.
Aubrey Notestine, Shantel Wolfe, and Melissa Peters all
contributed with perfect passing. In the championship game
against Huron, the girls fought back after losing the first
game 21-25 to win the next two games with scores 25-16 and
25-16. Lauren Teed, Elise Gastier, and Aubrey Notestine all
scored 8 points off their serves, with Susan Knight
contributing 6 aces and Aubrey Notestine contributing 5
aces. Off of 25-26 setting from Elise Gastier and 12-12
setting from Sarah Holler, Susan Knight and Abbey Cox led
the hitting attack with Knight going 14-17 with 7 kills and
Cox going 16-22 with 8 kills. Coach Seville wanted to
congratulate the 8th grade volleyball team on an AMAZING
16-1 SEASON!
On Saturday, October 20,
the seventh and eight grade volleyball teams completed in a
serve-a-thon. The money raised was donated to Zachary
Rospert for the Keith Ostheimer Concession/Restroom Stand
Project. A total of $1,270.00 was donated to this project!
