The girls basketball teams
split with Oak Harbor Lady Rockets on January 15. The 7th
grade lost by a score of 22-37. Scoring was led by Tori
Saenz with 10 points and
Tori Hunter with 9 points. Rebounding for the Lady Chargers
was led by Tori Saenz with 5.
The 8th grade saw their
record improve to 8 and 1, with a score of 46-26 victory
over the Lady Rockets on January 15. Scoring was led by
Susan Knight and Abbey Cox with 14 points each. Aubrey
Notestine also added 10 points. Rebounding was led by Susan
Knight with 11.
The Lady Charge girls
basketball teams got a split with St. Mary's Lady Panthers
on January 22. The 7th grade won in the final
minute of the game on a 3 point shot by Tori Saenz to win
the game 23-22. This improves their record 3 to 8 on the
season. Tori Saenz led in scoring with 11 points. Jordan Van
Dootingh and Tori Hunter also added 6 points each.
Rebounding was led by Tori Hunter with 10.
The 8th grade lost a
close game, dropping their record to 8 and 3. After trailing
14-20 at half time, the girls stormed out on the court with
15 points in the third quarter and started the fourth
quarter with a score of 29-27. They were unable to hold the
lead however and lost by a final score of 39-41. Susan
Knight led the scoring with 18 points and Abbey Cox added 10
points. Rebounding was led by Abbey Cox with 10. Susan
Knight also added 8 and Nicole Codeluppi with 6.
The 7th and 8th grade girls
basketball teams dropped a pair of games to the Clyde Lady
Fliers on Thursday, January 24. The 7th grade lost by
a score of 24-38. Tori Saenz led the scoring with 8 points
and Jordan Van Dootingh had 6 points. Rebounding was led by
Tori Saenz with 7. Jordan Van Dootingh also had 3 steals.
The 8th grade lost
32-41 to Clyde on January 24. Susan Knight led all scorers
with 15 points. Abbey Cox had a double double with 10 points
and 15 rebounds.
Your Lady Charger basketball
teams split with the Huron Lady Tigers on Thursday, January
29. The 7th grade team lost a heartbreaker in
the final seconds of the games by a score of 25-26. Scoring
was led by Tori Saenz with 12 points and Morgan Ott with 6
points. Tori Saenz had a double double, as she also added 10
rebounds. Morgan Ott had 7 rebounds and Tori Hunter had 5
points. Tori Saenz also added 5 steals.
The 8th grade team got
back on the winning path by defeating the Lady Tigers 47-29.
Susan Knight had a double double with 21 points and 11
rebounds. Abbey Cox added 16 points and Nicole Codeluppi and
Courtney Kuhl also had 4 points each. Lauren Teed and Susan
Knight also contributed 3 steals each.
The Lady Charger girls
basketball teams ended their regular season with a split
with the Port Clinton Lady Redskins on Thursday, January 31.
The 7th grade team lost to a tough Port Clinton team.
Scoring was led by Tori Sanez with 8 points and Jordan
VanDootingh with 6 points. Rebounding was led by Micaela
Ostheimer with 6 points.
The 8th grade team saw
their record improve to 10 to 4, as they jumped out to an
early 8 to 2 lead and never trailed. They defeated the
number one tournament seed Lady Redskins by a final score of
43-38. Abbey Cox led with a double double who scored 20
points and had 11 rebounds. Aubrey Notestine also had 6
points in the winning effort, as well as Shan Wolfe with 5
and Nicole Codeluppi and Lauren Teed with 4 points each.
The 8th grade girls basketball
team saw their season come to a close on Monday, February 4
falling to the Margaretta Lady Bears by a score of 21-39.
Abbey Cox led the scoring with 12 points and rebounding with
7. Aubrey Notestine also pulled down 6 rebounds.
Congratulations to a fine team with a fine season! Their
overall record was 10-5!
