slow start the Chargers took control midway through the
second quarter. Dylan Howard and Zach Yovanov led the
Charger rushing attack, each running for over 100 yards.

up with a key goal line stand in the first quarter to set
the tone for the rest of the game. The defensive line made
up of Ryan Gorsuch, Kyle Cory, Eric Boyce, Josh Gebelle and
Chris Roberts made it tough for the Eagles to run the ball.
Linebackers Craig Ritz and Kyle Matula and the secondary of
Ryan Neuberger, Brandon Tomson, Ryan Tiura and Alias Freeman
held the Eagles to 11 completions out of 31 attempts and
well under 100 yards. With the win the Chargers are now 2-0
on the season and are working hard to make it three straight
as they host Wellington this Friday night!

Tigers 4 to 1. Samantha Seiling opened the scoring for the
Chargers off a pass from Heather Johnson. Emma Stevens broke
up a breakout attempt by the Tigers in front of their net
and fed the ball to Cassie Williams whose shot on goal was
deflected off the keeper and was pounced upon by Elyse
Turton to put the Chargers up by 2 goals. The Tigers scored
late in the 1st half but the Chargers maintained
their momentum into the 2nd half. Heather Johnson
sent a free kick in front of the Huron goal to Michelle
Johnston whose shot squeezed through the keeper and was
finished by Cassie Cooper. With 23 seconds left in the game
the Chargers were awarded a corner kick. Heather Johnson
delivered the ball into goal box where Stephanie Barnett
directed it to Samantha Seiling for her 2nd goal
of the game. The Chargers are now 2-1-1.
